1896 Houston Sanborn Map: Section 7

This section is the same as the area that I looked at in the 1907 Houston Sanborn Map. I looked at the 1896 Houston Sanborn Map to discover what had changed in section 9 (1907; 7 in 1896) over the 10 years between the creation of the two maps. I discovered that the Street Railroad Co. and the Gas Co. decreased in size from 1896 to 1907 and that the Carriage Factory and Freight House were created in the 10 years between the maps. More importantly to my research; W. L. Macatee and Sons Building Materials was not located on the same site in 1896 as it was in 1907. This caused me to wonder if the company was created during the 10 year gap period or if it moved from a different location during that period.
